Apron Conversations
In Gotcha Covered: A Legacy of Service and Protection I included the story known as “The History of Aprons,” which has been passed around the Internet from friend to family member over the past several years. It is based on an original poem by Tina Trivett entitled Grandma’s Apron
Almost every week I receive in my email box a forward of this story—it seems to really hit a chord for many people as it perfectly describes the ways aprons symbolize comfort in our mind’s eye. As a part of this season of Spring, with Easter, Mother’s Day (May 9) and National Nurses’ Week (May 6-12) coming up, I am posting some of the apron stories and photographs I have received over the past few months from readers and fans, starting with Elizabeth’s Six Golden Coins blog
